Extension Program

This program provides access to our group classes, as well as recitals and priority registration for summer programs. It is a popular choice for students hoping to enter the young artist program, those who are on the waiting list, or for students who would like to enrich their work with their home teacher.

This program runs from mid-September to mid-June each year, with the option to continue during the summer session.

What does it include?

  • Weekly Group class

    Organized by level, these classes give young violinists the opportunity to perform weekly, connect with other young people from around the world, explore level and age-appropriate concepts in music theory, history, musicianship, world music, composition and more.

  • Senior Repertoire Class Series (if applicable)

    Aimed at advanced young violinists, this program offers performance and masterclass opportunities with international artists throughout the year. Participation is by invitation only.

  • Recitals

    The program presents a minimum of 10 virtual recitals a year.

  • Priority Registration

    Students in this program have advanced placement priority in the summer programs. Why is this important? Some of them routinely sell out in 24 hours or less!

  • This program runs from mid-September to mid-June each year, with the option to continue during the summer session. Group classes are offered weekly, with scheduled breaks for major holidays.

  • All activities happen online.

  • This program is open to young violinists of all ages, levels and nationalities. Young students must have completed their twinkles to be eligible.

  • A limited number of places become available each year. Entrance is by audition, begins in early March, and continues until the program is full. Check back for more details, or subscribe to our mailing list to stay up to date.
